Will be up in a couple minutes.

I'll be in Fairbanks, AK for a couple days, so I won't be posting. Have fun while I'm gone!

It's a Haiku.

Gah, so behind on answering things this month, but I still had to chime in and at least get a few points Wink

I think the answer for #2 is Escape.

Well, strictly speaking, it's not a haiku since it doesn't have a season word in it. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haiku)

But, the 5/7/5 rhythm is definitely haiku.

For the word I'd guess unconsciousness or sleep or something along those lines.

p.s. Hi everyone. Great comic!

For question number two, is it freedom? That's the only thing that comes to mind after re-reading it a few times.

Oh, and welcome dchaley!

For answer two, I feel like the the lines lead you to think of capture or death. But I see now that unconsciousness makes more sense. Lost in the deep embrace and I think the last line makes reference to the cartoon birdies going around someones head when they are dazed.

It has the phrase "Murk and doom" in it. That sounds like the season we're having here on the wicked wet coast.

It's a shipwreck!

"Murk and doom befall" - Tropical storm
"Lost within the deep embrace" - Sinking down into the deep, dark depths of the ocean.
"Birds soaring above" - Albatrosses and the like. Or penguins if it's a shipwreck in southern oceans. In which case I suppose it's not a Tropical storm but just a nasty storm none-the-less.

How about an Iceburg? Northern lights, trips to Alaska, makes perfect sense to me.

Of course gobblinals answer shipwreck would work too.

spam is just funny.

'Starvation' though the 'murky' doesn't quite fit, and the birds above would be vultures if you died in the desert. I'll admit it probably isn't right Sad

I'll echo Haiku just to make myself feel better.

I think all the different replies are interesting when Erik doesn't give us the answer right away.
