Perils of the Bold updates on Mondays and Thursdays.

Comment on Episode #217.

Annotations

Panel #1 - This is Claude-Rene, the chef that has a cafe in the dungeon. Kreex the Kobold purchased him long ago. Claude-Rene has appeared in the following episodes:

Panel #1 - I tried a different smudge brush on the digital flames here. I think it looks better than the flames in the last episode.

Panel #2 - The haiku goblin here recites a haiku lament written by Jaymon on the message boards! (I changed the last line a bit.) Thanks, Jaymon!

Panel #3 - The goblin told the orcs that Raik the ranger was still alive, despite the fact that a band of orcs skewered him on a spear and watched him disappear into a subterranean river. The possibility that their most annoying enemy escaped death does not appeal to them.

Panel #4 - Bamboozle: to deceive or get the better of (someone) by trickery, flattery, or the like.
Booze: any alcoholic beverage.

Panel #5 - Fibbery: a small or trivial lie.
Fiber: the structural part of plants and plant products that consists of carbohydrates, as cellulose and pectin, that are wholly or partially indigestible and when eaten stimulate peristalsis in the intestine.

Panel #6 - Gammon: the lower end of a side of bacon.
Gammon: deceitful nonsense; bosh.

Panel #7 - Instead of using his real name Claude-Rene, most just call him Clod.

Panel #9 - I had a lot of thoughts for the punchline. "Come here often?" "Are you the entree or am I?" "Do you smell garlic?" "I hear it's going to rain." and so on. Tawny Madison suggested the final punchline, which sounds the best. Thanks, Tawny.
