Perils of the Bold #62

Annotations

Panel #1 - I was debating on how to depict water in PotB for several weeks. Use real water? Jello? Cloth? Saran wrap? Resin? All had their pros and cons. I finally decided to use colored sand. It allows objects to wade through it, can be reused, is pretty easy to clean up, and has a short set up time. Now the question is, how do you guys like it? Is it good enough to represent water?

The water cups are Playmobil. The plants are floral bits from Michaels craft shop. The spider on the wall is from the Games Workshop game Hero Quest. The skull is from an action figure set, I don't rememer exactly which one.

Panel #3 - Full-bodied is a term used in wine-tasting to describe the taste.

Panel #4 - Rim color is a way to guess the age of wine by tilting the glass and looking at the edge of the wine.

Panel #5 - Nose is the aroma of wine. Common wine aromas are fruit, flower, earth, herbs, and spices.

The texture of a wine is the feel on the tongue.

Panel #6 - Tannen is an acidic taste in wine.

Panel #7 - I just thought it would be funny to have a couple of grimy, slimy, underground-dwelling, barbarous orcs conduct themselves like wine connoisseurs.

Panel #9 - I removed the ranger's legs and submerged him in the sand to simulate him neck deep in the water.
