10,000 Unique Vistiors in One Week!
This past week I passed the 10,000 mark for unique visitors in one week! First time I hit 5 figures! Woot! The previous records was 8074 in one week. As I'm writing this, it's up to 10,274, with a little over an hour left to go! Thanks a lot, everyone, for reading the comics!
One way I was able to break the 10,000 mark was by advertising on Project Wonderful. It's essentially an Ebay for advertising. The various advertisements you see on this site with "Your ad here, right now" underneath them are placed through Project Wonderful. Anyone who opens an account with Project Wonderful can click that text and place a bid on my web site. When clicking they get to see the stats for my website. If they like what they see, they place a bid. If they win the bid they can track how many clicks they get. If they get a lot of clicks, they are more likely to bid on my site again.
The ads I placed on other comic sites for 2 days last week cost about $7, and resulted in several hundred more unique visitors. I paid for those ads with revenue from my ads. Unfortunately, I only get about $15 in ad revenue per month. This is enough revenue to place ads on popular sites about 4 days a month.
But, if you folks who enjoy my comics click on the ads on my site more often, I might be able to get higher bids on my ads. This will earn me more money, which means I can place more ads, which means I get more readers, who will hopefully click on the ads. Lather, rinse, repeat.
So, if you want to support my comics, click on those ads every once in a while. You'll help support AFC and you might even find some other comics you enjoy!
